Amritsar

A visit to the border is an interesting experience, especially at sun-set, when the retreat ceremony takes place with the Border Security Force (B.S.F.) on the Indian side and The Sutlej Rangers on the Pakistan side putting up a well co-ordinated and spectacular display.

The Pakistan-Indian border is 29 km(18 miles) from Lahore along the Grand Trunk Road at Wagah. The daily flag ceremonies, raising in the morning and lowering 30 minutes before sunset, are solemn and colourful in true tradition, with the Pakistani & Indian soldiers vying for militry perfetion and a lone bugler playing the haunting Last Post.

The international border between India and Pakistan.

Golden Temple

Sri Harmandir Sahib, also know as the Golden Temple in Amritsar is the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion. Also known as the Shri Darbar Shaib, it is in the center of the old part of Amritsar. The Golden Temple sits on a rectangular platform, surrounded by the pool which gave the town its name "Amritsar", GoldenTemple is open to all and is reached by a causeway. The temple beautifully reflected in stunning expanse of water, creates an atmosphere which is particularly powerful from before dawn to early light. At this time the glistening white marble walk-way Parikarma which surrounds the temple is still cold under feet and the gold begins to shimmer in lightening water.

These kids they're very cute. They kept following me when i was walking around. They even hold the pose and asked me to take a photo of them! They even "grabbed" my digital camera and wanted to take a look on the photos taken. Overall, they're friendly. Look at their amused smile!
